We want to cut down the time spent in looking for film opportunities and deliver this crucial information to you, so you can focus on what matters the most - your career!

Hello ConneKt Film Community!

As December unfolds and the festive spirit fills the air, we want to take a moment to celebrate YOU. The past 11 months of 2024 have been no small feat, especially in such a dynamic and challenging industry. We're incredibly proud of your resilience, creativity, and passion - it’s what keeps our community thriving.

This year brought so many exciting developments, but one of our proudest moments was the launch of the ConneKt Film community! Since our beginnings, we’ve already accomplished so much together. A highlight was hosting our very first workshop, “A Filmmaker’s Guide to Funding,” with an internationally acclaimed producer Emilija Davidovic at CanArts. The session covered everything from available grants and essential documents to navigating funding bodies and perfecting grant applications. Guests enjoyed tea, built connections, and left inspired for their next projects. The event was a big success, and we’re already planning more initiatives - stay tuned!

Looking ahead, there are some important updates you don’t want to miss:

CFC is now accepting submissions for the Norman Jewison Film Program.
WIFT+ Toronto has opened submissions for the 2025 WIFT+ Toronto Showcase.
Don’t forget: Become a member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television by December 16th to vote in the Canadian Screen Awards.
